Foxhunting with Lurchers by Day: Part One

Caught on film by an amateur cameraman, this non narrative film shows an aspect of lurcher work seldom seen - hunting, coursing, catching and marking of foxes by day.
Filmed during the late nineties, this hour long DVD stars two first cross collie-greyhound bitches and hound cross lurchers (originally bred from a hound cross collie some thirty years ago), are seen doing the job they love - hunting foxes!
Providing an excellent service to farmers and land owners in areas where other pest control methods (snaring, shooting etc.) are unpractical on the huge areas of inaccessible land.
These foxes are controlled the way we believe they should be. Either they get caught (and killed very quickly) or they simply get away.
See foxes risen from the squat (in the first scene the fox was caught a mile or so up the valley), hunted on the steep hillsides, coursed on the rocks, heather and fern banks and run and marked to ground by these efficient working lurchers.

Rabbitin Days
Another non-narrative film from this amateur cameraman. Filmed in the early nineties (8mm camcorder) there's a good market for skinned rabbits and there's plenty of rabbits out there to be caught.
Starring two first cross lurchers that love their work, alongside ferrets, pursenets and longnets.
Over eighty rabbits caught in this one hour DVD, then a few hares to finish.

Foxhunting with Lurchers: Part two
The new millennium dawns and with it increased talk of a hunting ban in the UK. Surely not - is the only form of selective fox control to be made illegal and the now noble and respected fox to become nothing more than a giant red rat - a pest to be exterminated by whatever means at any time of year? Common sense will surely prevail!
Caught on film by an amateur camera man, this non-narrative film shows an aspect of lurcher work seldom seen - hunting, coursing, catching and marking of foxes by day.
The newest member of the team, a collie x greyhound-hound x lurcher (a great, great, grand daughter of the original hound cross) is starting to earn her place, she has great feet, endless stamina and a fantastic nose for her quarry.
Included in the dvd is some vintage footage - a section featuring her ancestors doing what they love - hunting foxes! Keep Hunting!

Foxhunting with Lurchers by Day: Part Three
More hunting action from Andrew's huge collection of sporting footage. Despite howling winds, driving rain and heavy snow the desire to hunt is stronger than ever perhaps fuelled by the thought that one day it could be possibly taken away? Surely no government would spend time debating a class war while a very real war rages in the Middle East!
Another non-narrative film where the action speaks louder than words. Foxes marked or run to ground, risen and hunted but not always caught, for one fact will always remain - good strong healthy foxes live to run another day.
Keep Hunting.
